Up for sale is this amazing and one of a kind 18th or even 17th century european, i would say german or french because of its style, this shallow snuff box is very ornate, the gold plating is very strong and vivd, ot was made with fire gilding which covers the base with a thick layer of gold, it is all hand engraved with the most amazing intricate designs that are typical 17-18th century, the cover is very unusual because of the stones on it, there is a rock crystal dome or lens shaped on the top, it covers an intricate cut out design in gilt brass and steel background, the top of the rock crystal is set with an old style cut orange agate, on it there is a small silver setting and a pearl is set inside the silver setting, very intricate and unusual.
the condition is very good for it age, there is some wear to the gilding at the bottom and on the rim of the box but thats just a use wear.
