    Description

    Offering a lovely 18th century tobacco or snuff box. The box is made of brass. The top is copper and has a brass inlay. The inlay is incised with an image of a man and a woman in formal dress facing and reaching foreach other. There is writing under the figures but the writing has rubbed off so it is unable to determine what it reads. The top does have some separation where the inlay and the copper meet. Also one of the corners of the top of the box has a break. The box is of nice & heavy quality and has incised decoration on the top and sides. The approximate dimensions are: Length: 12.8 cm ( 5.06 inches) Width: 5 cm ( 2 inches) Height: 3 cm( 1.2 inches) Weight: 155 grams ( 5.4 ounces)
