Antique Agate and Brass Snuff Box
; Up for sale is
the double-sided agate snuff
box, dated late 19
th
century. The agates of the box are beveled and in various shades and hues and embedded in a hinged brass frame on which plant motifs are engraved. There is an iron piece that can stick to a magnet in between the lid and bottom when the box is open. All pieces of the snuff box are intact and original from probably England. The box opens and closes smoothly.
Measures: 2 ½” long x 1 ¼” wide x ¾” deep. Condition: Very good and clean, with an
imperfection due to a tight fissure
located at the inside right corner of the agate on the lid
, leading to an infiltration of some stuffs. Please check the photos for details.
