Antique leather Horse collar, oak hames, all original hardware, cast knobs
Description:
Offering an antique horse collar with wood (oak we believe) hames reinforced by iron. (Hames are the two curved wooden pieces of a harness that fits around the collar to which the reins are attached). The item has all its original hardware: 4 rings, 2 strap loops, and upper and lower leather straps with buckles.
We recently treated the leather with ArmorAll leather care and the wood with a lemon oil wood restorer. Iron parts were treated with light oil. Continue this periodic care and it will continue to look good for years to come
Dimensions:
The collar measures 29” long, 18” wide and 5.5” thick. It weighs over 12 pounds.
Condition: VERY GOOD.
Wear commensurate with use and age.
Flaws: none observed.
Comments:
We acquired this at an estate auction many years ago and proudly displayed it in our home for over a decade. We recently moved and this is on the “downsize” list.
