Antique western 5 pocket money belt. Measures 33in.long from buckle pin to the end of the belt. One pouch on each side for large coins and one double pouch in the center for paper money or important documents. Well made from very soft thin leather with snaps on each pouch. These types of belts were worn in the late 19th century by those that traveled to far away places. Often worn by gold and silver prospectors, soldiers, and cowmen.
A two-piece rectangular buckle of pressed metal with double-spiked tongue marked SOLIDE. This type of buckle was used as an adjuster on the rear straps of men’s waistcoats and trousers, but may also have had other applications. They date late 19th to 20th century. Great for display with old coins or gold. You can see the impressions of the coins that were once carried in this belt.
