    Description

About 20 years ago when I was living and working in Boston, I had the pleasure of attending a business breakfast affair at a Concord, Mass golf club where Fleet Bank Boston (now BofA) was hosting Arnold Palmer and the creation of the Boston TPC (Tournament Players Club) in Norton Mass. Arnold's company was originally hired to design the course being built in Norton.
Fleet Bank was one of my company's key major account customers. So I got the privilege of eating scrambled eggs and bacon with about 150 other clients.....and Arnold Palmer as the keynote.
I remember after breakfast, Arnold got up and spoke to us. He had just shot a 69 on a recent tournament.....and someone in the audience asked: "When are you going to stop playing golf?". Arnold looked down for a moment at the podium, then looked up and said: "I'm going to stop playing golf when I think I can't get any better at my game."
There was a pregnant pause in the audience....then as everyone absorbed what Arnold had just said......the audience murmurs grew and grew.......and then applause.
It was quite a moving moment. Everyone in the audience....obviously golfers......they realized that Arnold had said something so profound and hit home in each person sitting there. Me Too ! :)
Anyway, one of my company's sponsors was in fact friends with Arnold. So he dragged me over to Arnold's table, introduced me, and asked Arnold to autograph one of the TPC cards.
Voila. That's the story behind this autograph.
Included is a second card without Arnold's autograph.  So should you decide to frame this autograph, you may include the inside of the (un-autographed) card to display the contents.  :)
