Double sided tape that is ideal for attaching vehicle body side moldings, trim and emblems. Strong bonding and easy to use. Cut to size, no mess.
Designed for the attachment of a wide variety of automotive exterior and interior trim including body side moldings, claddings, rock panel trim, wheel flares, bumper trim and most other automotive trim.

The length of the 3M soft pliable tapes is the stated length on the core, eg. 9.8 feet, 15 feet, 16.4 feet….  However, the applied length of these tapes depends on whether they are compressed or stretched during application, ie compressing decreases the applied length, while stretching increases the applied length.  Sometimes compressing is need to fill deeper molding recesses and when attaching a molding to an irregular surface, while stretching is appropriate for thin or no recesses in molding and applied to a smooth regular surface.
The non-3M tapes have a thicker foam core that are not saturated with adhesive and the applied length is not as sensitive to the technique used in applying.  These thicker tapes are ideal for deeper molding recesses and more irregular surfaces.
I prefer the soft pliable 3M tapes, even though I may have a substantial shrinkage in the applied length.  If you select a 3M tape, I suggest adding about 30% to the surface length of your project to allow for applied shrinkage.  Otherwise, the tape needs to be applied with tension to achieve core length or a longer length.  Easier to have an excess on hand, then to run short.
Surfaces must be properly prepared.  Surfaces should be dry, warm, clean, oil-free, dust-free and healthy.  Washing with detergent, then wiping with acetone &/or alcohol and drying/warming with a hair drier should give an ideal surface.  Degrading surfaces may also need sanding to reach healthy surfaces.  If the ambient temperature is cool/cold both the tape and surfaces should be warmed.

If you need a really firm holding tape to hold moldings on your car, or in my case touring motorcycle, this is the stuff, A piece of the plastic was loose on my motorcycle and I used a piece of this tape to secure it and it worked great. You really need to clean both surfaces really well for it to stick well, but once you do this stuff will hold it. I took my motorcycle on my yearly vacation from the the Northeast to the Southeast and back and through rain and dirt and its still holding strong today
Great product!  It's a 3M product, so quality is great, it's still holding my emblem after a year.  Through hard weather and rain.  It's long enough so that you have extra.
