You are bidding on an old, ORIGINAL letter from a person who was possibly a performer or at least an worker employee of Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show. It was sent to a lady in Cherokee, Oklahoma. The letter is dated July 11, 1904. The letter is on the Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show stationery and is VERY DECORATIVE and COLORFUL, and the envelope is also but of course is smaller than the piece of stationery. The envelope measures approx. 9 ½” x 4 ½” and the pages measure approx. 8 3/8” x 11”. The letter talks about the “circuit” or the cities, and also mentions hearing “Major Lilly”, Pawnee Bill, talk about coming to Oklahoma. The envelope was opened by tearing the right edge off, which of course would not have been uncommon, and is very rough at the right edge, has multiple creases and short tears at that edge. There moderate wear at the other edges and corners of the envelope, including multiple creases rubbing along the edges, moderate darkening, foxing and spotting, and other moderate wear but it is still very attractive. The stationery of course was folded horizontally twice, and again a couple of times vertically since it went into a smaller envelope, of course leaving a horizontal crease at each fold, small creases at the folds, wear at the corners, some creases at and near the corners, handling creases darkening and spotting including moisture spots and other moderate wear. It appears that there is a small loss at the center fold/crease, at the left edge but it is torn a little vertically and is folded or creased back but will not stay down when “uncreased” or pushed down. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. Please see our other listings of vintage postcards, photos and related paper items. We are happy to combine lots, when possible, to reduce the s/h costs. US buyer pays $ 4.00 s/h for up to 6 oz. of postcards, paper, photos and similar items, which includes tracking and cardboard reinforcement, and Oklahoma residents MUST pay applicable sales tax. Good Luck!
