Handmade Junk Journal - 1966 Vintage Reader’s Digest Alice in Wonderland Theme

Listing is for a handmade junk journal. I’ve repurposed a 1966 hardcover Reader’s Digest Best Love Books for Young Readers.
This journal measures approximately 7.5’ x 5.25’. Has 3 signatures with over 240 pages (front & back). Some pages are embellished with plenty of room for journaling.
Front cover has a collage of distressed playing cards, tea pot frame and an illustration from an Alice in wonderland book. All sealed with decoupage glue. There is a bronze metal book plate to personalize yourself. Front cover also has bronze metal book corner.
The spine on the journal has been reinforced with a chipboard for more sturdiness. On the spine, I added a black rosette flower to hang a handmade tassel made with buttons, coordinating colors of the book. The tassel also has a key charm and a glass bottle with glitters inside and a note that reads, “Drink Me”. The tassel is hung with a bulb pin that you can easily remove.
Various papers are used for the pages. Coffee/tea/avocado stained papers, vintage ledgers, stationary, music, botanical, dictionary, children’s books, etc. Some pages have been stamped on and plenty of sewing on pages and tags. Journal has 6-8 pockets made from paper bags and envelopes. There are 3 tabs attached to a page with a charm of beads and Alice theme.
Closure for the book is a bronze binder clip attached to a metal chain and an eyelet on the back of the book. Binder clip used so there is plenty of room for your journal to grow.

This is a handmade journal. There may be some slight imperfections. When taking pictures, I tried to capture with best lighting. Some pictures may display lighter or darker. Please see pictures as it is part of the descriptions.
These books are one of a kind, no one will have anything similar. I really enjoyed putting these books together. Previous owner of these books were planning on throwing them away, and I couldn’t be more happier to repurpose these books rather than going to landfill. Each books were cleaned thoroughly. Perfect gift for you or for a love one!
