HANDMADE CARD STOCK PAPER: 100-Sheet Pack of 8.5 x 11 inch (US Letter), Tree-free Vintage Kathmandu Valley Co. Lokta Paper. Created by hand in the Himalayas of Nepal, following an ancient tradition.
FROM THE HIMALAYAS: Strips from the inner Lokta bark are cooked into a fibrous pulp and then spread by hand across boxed screens and set to dry in the Himalayan sunshine, the fibers join, forming the one-of-a-kind Lokta paper.
UNIQUE EDGE: Deckle-edge (rough-edge) card stock, great for use in crafts, handmade wedding or party invitations, vintage printing projects, or scrapbooking, the pages contain natural flecks from the lokta bark and a light screened texture on the side used to make the paper and the other, a naturally rougher texture.
EARTH FRIENDLY: Lokta bushes quickly regrow after being cut, making Lokta bushes a renewable resource. A one-of-a-kind alternative to traditional card stock papers for the eco-conscious adventurer.
HANDMADE IN NEPAL: Thank you for supporting a 1,000-year-old Nepali paper-making tradition.
Size:100 Sheets | Color:Natural 8.5 x 11 inch Handmade Lokta card stock paper with beautiful deckle/feather edges. The unique deckle-edge (like feather or rough cut), makes this handmade lokta card stock paper great for special vintage or antique crafting projects, scrapbooking, wedding invitations, thank you notes, or art projects that could use a touch of nature with the unique, fabric like feel and natural edge of lokta paper. The paper comes from lokta bushes which grow in the high Himalayan mountains of Nepal. Once cut, the lokta bushes quickly regrow making them a renewable source for the paper. Strips from the lokta inner bark are cooked in vats with the resulting fibrous mash being spread by hand across boxed screens. The fibers join together, forming the paper in the Himalayan sunshine. The paper has a beautiful natural texture with one side smooth from the screen used to create the paper, and the opposite side with a unique natural texture from when the paper formed. Because lokta card stock is handmade, page thickness can vary slightly from batch to batch. The paper can be used in both laser and inkjet printers and can also be used for handwritten notes or even book binding projects. Due to the deckle edge, we recommend printing one page at a time. For handwritten projects, the fibrous nature does allow for some feathering and ghosting if writing with pens with heavy ink. The paper contains some natural flecks from the lokta bark which adds to its character making each page unique. Kathmandu Valley Co. paper is 100% lokta. Thank you for being a part of a tradition that spans over 1,000 years of handmade paper making in Nepal.
