    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a William H. Jayne & James H. Hill patent dated April 11, 1876. This wire is called "Jayne & Hill's Locked Staple Barb on Two Parallel Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 569-B). This wire features two round line wires laid together in parallel fashion. Barbs are four pointed, and made by locking two staple shaped barbs together around both line wires. These barbs were applied by hand using a specially designed tool. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with moderate pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
