    "John Hart"
, 1 page, 8½x8¾, explaining the provenance of the holster. No place,
    November 2004
    . "
    To whom it may concern
    ,"
    in full:
"This letter is to confirm the history & authenticity of the black holster with silver studs & letter M.
The holster was the personal property of Jock Mahoney
, also known as Jock O'Mahoney (Jocko as his friends call him). Jocko & I were good friends. When his acting career was getting underway, he was signed to play the lead in a serial for Columbia. I was hired to be his stunt double.
It was ludicrous doing stunts for one of the best stuntmen in town.
Every time something came up, Jocko would say, 'I'll do it.' And he usually did. I spent a good part of that job sitting under a tree watching him execute 'gags'. Ones that I was supposed to be doing! Anyway, we became good friends & I enjoyed the time we spent together & time shooting. We had great times shooting rocks, cans, targets, etc. We were both very good with an old Colt shootin' iron.
The last time we went shooting together, Jocko left this holster in my car. I have owned it for decades.
I hope it adds to your collection. Enjoy! Sincerely,
    [signature]
    The Lone Ranger"
