Old Engraved "W. Humphry Copperman Patriot Paul 1687" Brass Snuff Box

Description

I bought this box at an estate auction where it was represented as being hand made. I call it a snuff box but I'm not sure what it was originally intended for. The box is approximately 2 3/4 inches  by 1 7/8 inches. The top is engraved but I cannot make everything out. I believe it is W. Humphry Copperman Patriot Paul 1687 but not certain. Please check out the photos. I have no idea when or where this box was made. There are very small dings but definitely nothing very large. I think the box is probably made of brass.
