    Description

This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a William Watkins patent, dated November 21, 1876. This wire is called "Watkins Narrow Arrow Lazy Plate Barb - All Galvanized" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 713-B VARIATION - Hagemeier does not list galvanized variation). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are four pointed made from an arrowhead shaped piece of sheet metal, inserted between the line wires and twisted with the line wires. These plates are 5/16" in width. This sample has plates and both line wires galvanized or plated. This sample is 18-1/2" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows lightyage wear, with minimal pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors. I have listed other wires, both as auction and fixed price listings. We will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice ... using the buy it now option. First wire ships for .50; additional wires are fifty cents each extra. Twelve or more wire ship for free.
